Two Movies and One Película

I love movies! I love watching them at our local movie theater with comfortable seats, eating pop corn, chocolate, and I love watching them with friends and/or family.

In the past month I’ve watched some really funny films.

I recently went to go see Dirty Grandpa, How to Be Single, and a Spanish film Busco Novio Para Mi Mujer.

Dirty Grandpa was great!

I got to see two good looking fellas…

with hot bods…

and Robert De Niro in a very different role…

partying like a college student…

and as a much more sexual character than ever before.

Then I saw How to Be Single with one of my single girl friends.

It had some funny moments…

it was a bit predictable…

but I couldn’t miss Rebel Wilson…
she did great, like always!

But, the film I really  want to talk about is Busco Novio Para Mi Mujer.

I’m very harsh when it comes to Spanish movies because the ones I saw growing up literally scarred me. When I was fourteen I went to see the movie Quinceañera. My grandmother, grandfather, and I went to see together. My grandmother thought it would be a good idea since I was about to have mine in just a few months. Well let me tell you, watching that film was probably the worst idea ever. We all came out of the theater super uncomfortable with what we had just seen. It had nothing to do with the actual Quinceañera celebration. It was completely different and I think my grandmother should have done a little more research on the film before taking me to watch it.

Since that film, I have only seen very few Spanish movies.  I watched the Frida with my grandmother, Like Water for Chocolate, and well, all the other films we watched in Spanish class. Sorry Maestro Verricat, I don’t remember the title names), and now this one; Busco Novio Para Mi Mujer.

This Spanish film was one of the best because it was not super cheesy nor was it super dramatic, it was realistic, it was funny, it was romantic, it had great actors, and the best part you could actually understand what they were saying (most Spanish films are portrayed by actors with heavy accents or actors who speak very fast).

Paco and his wife, Dana.
To give you a quick summary of the film without giving anything away Busco Novio Para Mi Mujer is about a husband Paco(Arath de la Torre) and his nagging wife, Dana (Sandra Echeverría). Fed up with his nitpicking wife he hires a man , Taiger (Jesús Ochoa), to seduce her and break up the marriage. If you haven’t seen the preview yet you need to watch it!

I went to see it with a good friend of mine from High School and since I liked it so much I’m planning to make a little family trip to the theater!

I’ll keep you posted on how that goes later on in the week!

What movies have you seen recently?
