Books of the Month

I’ve got some new books this month on my night stand that I am ready to share with you all!

In a previous post I shared that I had joined Andrew Luck’s Book Club. Well, this quarter he chose a book I’ve already read, The Martian by Andy Weir.

I’ve already read this book, so I’ll be skipping the book this quarter and reading something else. If you haven’t seen the movie or read the book, I recommend you read the book! The boo is great and funny and in comparison to the movie, it’s much more descriptive and pretty funny.

This month I’ve chosen two new books to read:

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and In the Country We Love.

I’m really excited to read the New J.K. Rowling book because I grew up reading he Harry Potter books when I was younger in elementary school and now that I’m all grown up it really feels like Harry, Hermione, and Ron grew up with me.

Fun Fact: I read all the Harry Potter books in Spanish first and then read them again in English. I’m not going to lie, they were much better in English.

UPDATE: I’ve already finished Harry Potter and The Cursed Child. I finished it the same night I started reading it! It was so good and I couldn’t put it down! I very much wish I could go see the play and I’m so jealous of those who have seen it. I’m sure it was fantastic! Since I won’t be able to see the play until who know when, I’ve been on Pottermore watching videos of the cast and reading up on reviews of the play. You can see more about Harry Potter and the Cursed Child HERE.

I picked The Country We Love because

1. I love the Dianne Guerrerro! She plays Maritza Ramos, one of the Latina girls and best friends with Flaca in Orange is the New Black and she also stars in Jane the Virgin, she’s Jane’s best friend, Lina.

AND

2. I feel like my family and my past can somewhat relate to what her family and her have been through when dealing with immigration and the struggle it is to have family in two different parts of the world.

What books are you reading this month?
