This past weekend was exhausting, amazing, exciting, and totally worth every minute!
At 5 am Saturday morning, an old friend and I traveled to LA to a Gilmore Girls events, The Festival of the Four Seasons in Stars Hollow!
We flew out at 8 am and arrived in LA around 9:40. We took Uber straight to UCLA, where the festival took place, and there we waited inline.
I’m sure we weren’t the only ones who flew in for the festival, but we were definitely the only ones with our luggage!
We waited in line for about 3 1/2 before actually entering the festival area.
While in line we got handed wristbands…
I took Snapchat pictures with the many Star Hollow filters…
we received a map of the festival…
AND we got to see Keiko Agena leave. Agena plays Lane Kim, Rory’s childhood best friend in the television series. She was such a sweetheart waving to everyone who was still in line.
Around 1:15 we were finally let into The Festival of the Four Seasons!
Once in we ran to our first location, the Gazebo where Michel Gerard (Yanic Truesdale) was waiting for us!
Don’t we look cute!! I love the fall look they gave the gazebo.
While in line we also took turns exploring the festival grounds. We picked our next destination and made a plan on what to do next.
Planning is a key term here because guests are only allowed one hour in the festival. After that one hour is over they kick everyone out and prepare the site again for the next 200 guests.
We took pictures in front of the Stars Hollow sign where next thing we know Gypsy (Rose Abdoo) came and sat next to us!
It was such a good surprise!
We had both already tried Luke’s hot coffee, so this time we went for his iced coffee…so gooood.
Recognize that cash register?!?!
We took pictures at the Stars Hollow Gazette and with the umbrellas from the secret society, In Omnia Paratus.
We sent friends and ourselves some post cards from the Stars Hollow Post Office.
We went to Kirk’s Button Emporium and picked our favorite button
Unfortunately we were only allowed to grab one which was such a hard choice because they had so many cute ones!
Here’s the one I chose…Once a Gilmore. Always a Gilmore.
Our last stop was Taylor’s Olde Fashioned Soda Shoppe where we got delicious free candy samples.
Kim’s Antiques shop was another booth at the festival, where you could see some of her antiques (prop’s from the show), but we didn’t make it inside. Our time inside the festival grounds ran out before we were able to head in…insert emoji crying face.
Overall, was this experience worth it? DEFINITELY YES!
I had a blast attending the festival and experiencing Stars Hollow with many other fans. It’s definitely an experience I’ll never forget! Netflix did a great job putting this whole event together.
Goodbye Stars Hollow!!
Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life premieres Nov. 25 on Netflix.
