Everyone I’ve talked to who has run a marathon has told me I should have two pairs of running shoes and that I should be rotating them. So, what did I do on my day off from running? I headed over to Fleet Feet, got my feet evaluated, and tested out some new shoes!
After trying on countless of shoes I finally found my perfect fit, the Mizuno Wave Horizons.
I ran most of my miles last week with my new shoes because I really wanted to get them broken in, but this week I’ll be rotating between my Asics and my new Mizuno.
Total Weekly Mileage: 26+
Tuesday
- Mileage: 6 miles HILLS
- Time: 1:24:28
- Course: Porter to Stanford Dish
- Feelings: Not a good day. It was so hot (87 degrees) and I did not cary any water, huge mistake on my part. I only ran the first two miles and the last two. I know I need to start working on hills and running so I’m planning to do some hill intervals this week and next week.
- Shoe: Mizuno
Thursday
- Mileage: 5.4 miles
- Time: 1:00:00
- Course: Palo Alto Neighborhood
- Feelings: Overall good run, not too happy about my pace time. Started off running too fast and then progressively started to burn out.
- Shoe: Mizuno
Saturday
- Mileage: 12 miles
- Time: 2:22:18
- Course: Sawyer Park
- Feelings: Great run! Mile 4.5-6 were all up hill but I did it, I ran uphill and never stopped until I hit the very end. Pace slowed down during my last 3 miles, but overall I feel good about the run. I think it’s time to try out some new running trails for my next long runs.
- Shoe: Mizuno
Sunday
- Mileage: 3.24 miles
- Time: 35:54
- Course: Palo Alto Neighborhood
- Feelings: This was a night run, left the house around 8:20 pm. I was very sore during the first mile but pushed through the pain. Overall this was a great run. I felt good and I also managed to pick up my pace during the last stretch.
- Shoe: Asics
