Bright Lights: Starring Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds | HBO | This is a beautiful documentary about the relationship between entertainer Debbie Reynolds and her daughter actress Carrie Fisher.

Brooklyn Castle | Netflix | This documentary follows students from a junior high school chess team, one of the best ones in the country. Rochelle, a young and determined young woman, is one of the students the documentary follows. Today, she’s a senior at Stanford and to this day she is still determined to become the First African American Female Master, her goal is to become a Master this summer (2016), before her 21st birthday.

Bully | Netflix |This is a really sad documentary that follows the life of kids who are bullied in school and the families that have been affected.

The Case of: JonBenét Ramsey | CBS | This is a two part documentary miniseries about the Murder of JonBenét Ramsey in Boulder, Colorado on December 26, 1996. An investigative team, put together by two former FBI agents, review the case, the 911 call, the ransom note, and other aspects of the case. At the end of the mini series they share their own opinion on what they believe really happened to JonBenét. This documentary is one you won’t want to stop watching!

Fed Up | Netflix | This documentary examines the causes of childhood obesity. It’s eye opening and really makes you think about what your eating and what your feeding your children.

The Jinx | HBO |This is a six part documentary series. The directors talk to Robert Durst who is a suspect in the still unresolved 1982 disappearance of his wife and of his family friend Susan Berman and neighbor Morris Black. This case is still under investigation because of this documentary. Yes, its that good!

The Keepers | Netflix | This seven part series explores the unsolved murder of the nun Sister Cathy Cesnik who taught English and drama at Archbishop Keough High School, and how her former students believe that there was a cover up by authorities. If you enjoyed Making a Murder, The Jinx, or Serial you will enjoy this series!

Making a Murderer | Netflix | This is a ten episode documentary series. Once your past the first episode I promise you wont be abel to stop watching it!

There’s something wrong with Aunt Diane | HBO |Based on an accident that made national headlines: a suburban mother who drove the wrong way, killed herself and seven others, one survivor. The film investigates the case six months after the accident.

The Staircase | Netflix |The 13-part series tells the story of Michael Peterson, a novelist living in Durham, North Carolina who was put on trial for the murder of his wife Kathleen who fell down the staircase in their home.

Women’s List | Netflix| A great recommendation for girls and women. There are great successful women on this documentary like Shonda Rhimes, Alicia Keys, Nancy Pelosi, Sara Blakely, Aimme Mullins, and many other women who talk about their motivation, their role models, their struggles, and drive to great success.
